
Mary Jane Rhodes
Mary Jane (Slicker) Rhodes, 75, of Ludington, drifted away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 surrounded by her daughters ending her journey with Alzheimer’s disease.
Mary Jane was born the youngest of three daughters to Dorthy Inez Johnson Slicker and Norman Slicker in Massillon, Ohio on Sept 3, 1950. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters, Sheila Brannon and Lorraine Quilty.
Mary Jane graduated from Massilon Catholic High School in 1969. She was a loving mother, a maker, a compassionate educator with Ludington Area School District, a floral enthusiast at Meijer, and a dedicated community servant.
Remaining to cherish Mary Jane’s memory are her daughters Sarah Rhodes, Megan (Rhodes) Ryan (alongside son-in-law Willian Ryan and grandchildren, El and Mavis), and Emily Rhodes; their father, Ralph Gene Rhodes; Mary Jane’s brother in law, James F. Quilty, Jr.; as well as her nieces, nephews, and countless friends and co-workers also carry her in their hearts.
Mary Jane may be dancing on the pink clouds in her crafted attire but she stays in our hearts and minds reminding us that creativity, humility and grace endures.
A celebration of life will be held at her home in Ludington this summer.
