Bradley Blood, 80, of Ludington died on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.
Bradley was born the youngest of five children in Honor to Francis and Arline Blood on March 14, 1945. He loved the fact that he could say he was an “Honors High School” graduate. He graduated from Professional Business Institute as a medical laboratory technician in 1964. On April 30, 1998, Bradley received a certificate in hazardous waste operations and emergency response training from the State of Illinois, among other certifications. He worked as a chemist, worked at a hospital, and worked with the Illinois State Road Commission. He lived, worked, and retired in Illinois. He then moved to Ludington after he retired, to be close to Lake Michigan and his brothers again. Brad never had any children. He liked being known as a Christian and a patriot.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis Hiram and Arline Ellen Blood; siblings Sherman Blood, Kelvin Blood, and Sharol Blood McDaniel; nephew Eldon Blood Jr. and nieces Grace Blood and Vicki Blood. Bradley is survived by his sibling Eldon Willard Blood Sr., and many friends locally, including Reverend Randall and Carol Hoekstra, and Ari Hoekstra, who was there to comfort and pray with Brad as he took his last breath.
Bradley passed on into Glory to meet his Savior Jesus Christ on January 27, 2026. May he rest in peace. Many thanks and appreciation goes to those on staff at Ludington Hospital emergency room for the care given to help Brad in his last hour.
A Memorial Service will be held on February 27, 2026, at 2 p.m. with time for greeting the family beginning at 1 p.m., at Beacon Cremation and Funeral Service, Pere Marquette Chapel, 309 S. Washington Ave, Ludington. Flowers are appreciated; in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Mason County PAWS Humane Society.
