KALAMAZOO — High-level competitive jiu-jitsu took center stage on Saturday as Thug Trials 2 brought an evening of intense grappling action to the Delta Hotel Conference Center. The event featured a lineup of submission-only super fights, highlighting some of the Midwest’s rising talent in the sport.
Among the standout performances of the night was Jacob Maidens of Ludington’s Hook & Catch Wrestling + JiuJitsu Club. Maidens delivered a dominant showing, securing a lightning-fast arm bar submission victory in just 53 seconds.
From the opening exchange, Maidens imposed his pace and control, quickly advancing position before isolating the arm and finishing decisively. The swift victory further establishes him as a rising presence on Michigan’s competitive jiu-jitsu scene, particularly in the growing super fight circuit.
Events like Thug Trials 2 continue to showcase the technical depth and competitive spirit of regional grapplers, drawing dedicated fans and athletes together to celebrate the art of submission grappling.
For Maidens and his team, the result marks another strong step forward in an already impressive run of performances.
