LUDINGTON — Safe Harbor Credit Union was honored by the Ludington Eduation Association Friday with the 2025-2026 Friend of Education award. The presentation was made during the Ludington High School varsity boys basketball game against Whitehall. LEA president Jon Stowe presented the award to Adam Johnson, president of Safe Harbor Credit Union.
“The Friend of Education Award has been a long-standing tradition for the Ludington Education Association,” Stowe said. “This award is given to a local individual, business, or organization that supports education through various projects. Each year, our membership nominates and votes for a recipient we believe is supportive as a partner in education.
“Safe Harbor Credit Union exemplifies what it means to be a community partner in education. Its relentless support of students and activities at Ludington Area Schools is impactful, consistent, and greatly appreciated. SHCU understands the values of a small town community while consistently striving to make a difference in our local school districts. The staff at Safe Harbor Credit Union has proven to share the same belief and mission of putting students first, for that, the Ludington Education Association and its members are incredibly grateful. Our students and their families are blessed to receive the support and contributions from everyone at Safe Harbor Credit Union. We are so appreciative of everything Safe Harbor Credit Union brings to our school district.”
