SCOTTVILLE — The Mason County Central Board of Education will hold a special meeting on Monday, Feb. 16 to take action on hiring a search firm for a new superintendent.
On Monday, Feb. 9, Jeff Mount announced his retirement, effective June 30, 2026, after nearly 20 years in the position. See related story here.
The board of education’s personnel committee met Friday morning to interview the Michigan Association of School Boards and will meet again Monday, Feb. 16 at 7 a.m. to interview the Michigan Leadership Institute. Both firms offer superintendent search services.
The Board of Education will convene at 8:30 a.m. in the MCC High School Community Room to hold the public meeting.
Oscar Davila, president of the board of education told MCP that the board’s goal is to have a new superintendent in place by July 1.
