LUDINGTON — The Ludington Area School District Board of Education expects to hire a new superintendent by late April. Applications are still being excepted through the Michigan Leadership Institute, a private search firm, until Feb. 28.
On March 10, the board of education will hold a special meeting. At that time, the board will be presented, in closed session, with candidates. It will then select four to six candidates to interview and will finalize the first round interview questions. The time has not yet been set.
On March 18 and 19, the first round of interviews will take place. The interview process is open to the public to view. Following the interviews, the board is expected to select two to three finalists. The times of the meetings have not yet been set.
On April 21 the board will conduct final interviews in a public meeting. The time has not yet been set. The board is expected to select a candidate and then enter into contract negotiations.
The new superintendent is anticipated to begin on July 1.
The superintendent position was left vacant at the end of last year when Dr. Kyle Corlett resigned. Mary Marshall, a retired superintendent who served at Pentwater, is the current interim superintendent.
