Debra Rahn

Debra J. Rahn, 74 passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2026 in Florida after a long courageous battle with cancer. Debra was the daughter of Robert and Betty Rahn born on August 25, 1951 with her twin Diane (Steve) Juterbock in Ludington. She grew up in Scottville graduating from Mason County Central High School in 1969. She was in the first graduating class at West Shore Community College in 1971. She furthered her education earning her bachelor’s degree from Trinity College Washington, D.C.

Debra (Debbie) had an illustrious career with NASA in Washington, DC. She started there in 1972 in the secretarial pool but quickly advanced due to her hard work and dedication. She received numerous recognitions and awards throughout her 34 years at NASA in International Affairs retiring in 2006. She had quite the career with trips all over the world, touring with astronauts and meeting heads of state, even royalty in several countries. She had numerous trips to Russia during the development of the International Space Station. Upon retiring Debbie moved to Florida and enjoyed golf, pottery, reading and trips to the beach.

She met many new friends (some followed her there) and developed a close group of women. She will be greatly missed. Debra is survived by her twin, Diane (Steve) Juterbock, sister Judy Rahn Johnson, nephews Matthew (Kimberly) Johnson, Christopher (Amy) Juterbock and niece Ann (Norman) Rericha and aunt Linda (Glenn) Moulton. She is also survived by several great-nieces and great-nephews and cousins. The loves of her life were her cats. They were all treated like royalty.

Our saying was “when we die we want to come back as one of her cats.” Debra was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Betty (Stewart) Rahn, grandparents Otto and Mary Rahn and Gerald and Ila Stewart.

A Celebration of Life will be held this summer in Ludington. The date and time to be announced prior to the celebration.
