Gladys McKinney
Gladys McKinney, 75, of Ludington, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2026.
Gladys was born on March 5, 1950, in Ferriday, Louisiana, to the late Emmanuel and Lillie (James) McKinney. She was a 1968 graduate of Sevier High School. For many years she worked at Pacific Bell Telephone Co. as a contract manager. She was a member of St. Matthews Baptist Church in Ferriday, Louisiana.
She spent her early years as an avid bowler, often lighting up the lanes with her impressive scores and infectious laughter. As technology evolved, so did Gladys’s hobbies. She found joy in watching television game shows, surfing the internet on her tablet, and keeping up with current news. Her interest in true crime TV shows kept her on the edge of her seat, always ready for the next plot twist.
Above all, Gladys loved spending time with her family. The moments she cherished most were those spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose visits would light up her world. Her legacy of love, laughter, and curiosity lives on in them, and in the many lives she touched.
Gladys is survived by her daughter, Trisha (Mark) Castonia; grandsons, Devin Latrell Castonia Sr. and Tre’ Michael Castonia; great grandkids, Devin Latrell Castonia Jr., Scarlett Elizabeth Castonia, and Saniyah Rose Castonia; sisters, Lillian (Lucky) McKinney, Shirley Redvine, Tommye (Roosevelt) Whitley McKinney; brothers, Earl (Rosanna) McKinney, David (Donna) McKinney; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Gladys was proceeded in death by her parents; her siblings, Lewis McKinney, Ann Reagans, Charles McKinney, Albertha Williams, and Elizabeth Parker; and nephew, Damien McKinney.
The family thanks all Sevier friends of the class of 1968 for their continued friendship they shared with Gladys.
Arrangements were entrusted to Grace Funeral Home and Cremation Services,www.GraceCremations.
