HAMLIN TOWNSHIP — The Chamber Alliance of Mason County will host its seventh annual State of the Community Breakfast on Wednesday, Feb. 11 at Lincoln Hills Golf Club. Local business and community leaders are encouraged to attend the event, which will feature a regional economic development forecast, as well as updates from chamber partner organizations.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased on the Chamber’s website at https://www.ludington.org/networking/state-of-the-community/  Space is limited, and pre-registration is required.

This year’s keynote speaker, Randy Thelen of The Right Place, will provide insights into local, regional, and state economic trends, helping attendees understand Mason County’s recent progress and what lies ahead for the community’s growth and development.

Thelen, in his current position, directs the economic development strategy for the Greater Grand Rapids region, including Mason County. In pursuit of the region’s vision to become one of the nation’s leading growth economies, he works closely with business and community leaders to advance three strategic pillars: People, Place, and Prosperity.

Since assuming leadership in 2021, Thelen has guided The Right Place in supporting the creation and retention of over 4,000 jobs and securing over $1 billion in new capital investment. Under his leadership, the organization has expanded into an eight-county regional collaboration and broadened its scope to include community development and placemaking, as well as enhanced talent attraction, retention, and expansion efforts.

“We’re pleased to welcome local leaders to our annual event to hear from our partner, The Right Place, on key economic development trends and the regional forecast,” said Brandy Miller, Chamber Alliance president and CEO. “This gathering also provides an opportunity to celebrate our community’s successes, while identifying areas where continued collaboration is needed.”

As part of this event, highlights of the chamber alliance and economic development of the past year in Mason County will be shared. Also presenting will be leaders from Chamber Alliance partner organizations: Community Foundation for Mason County, Downtown Ludington Board, Ludington Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, and Mason County Promise.

The State of the Community Breakfast will take place from 8:30-10:30 a.m. in the great room at Lincoln Hills. The cost is $30 to attend (breakfast buffet included). Safe Harbor Credit Union, Community Foundation for Mason County, West Shore Bank, and FloraCraft Corporation sponsor the event.
