ROYAL OAK — The Lakeshore Badgers defeated Brother Rice Varsity B 6-3 Saturday, Jan. 2, following a holiday break.
After a scoreless first period, the Badgers got goals from senior Lukas Schade (Mason County Central High School) and sophomore Owen Adair (MCC) in the second period with Brother Rice tallying one goal. The Badgers entered the second intermission ahead 2-1.
In the third period the Badgers got goals from senior Levi Young (MCC), two from freshman Jacob Bielski (Manistee High School), and sophomore Adrian Lundberg (Ludington High School). Brother Rice tallied two goals in the period.
“This being our first game back from the holiday break, I was pleased with the team’s effort. We carried play for much of the game, played physically and had a nicely executed power play goal,” said Lakeshore Coach Brian Zatloukal.
The Lakeshore Badgers is a cooperative team hosted by Manistee Area Public Schools and consisting of high school players from MAPS, Ludington, Mason County Central, Mason County Eastern, Pentwater, Shelby and Hart.
The Badgers play New Boston United today in Westland.
