MASON COUNTY — Mason, Manistee, Benzie and Leelanau counties are under a winter weather advisory issued by the National Weather Service beginning at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8, until 4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9.
Total snow accumulation between 3 and 6 inches is expected. “Winds gusting as high as 35 mph will lead to blowing and drifting snow this evening into tonight,” states NWS. “Plan on hazardous travel conditions. Gusty winds will lead to blowing and drifting snow, along with potential for whiteout conditions later this evening through Tuesday morning. Slow down and use caution while traveling. Be sure to have a winter travel kit handy in the event of an emergency.”
