Gusts up to 56 mph from the wind storm, Nov. 26 and 27, caused five vehicle vs. tree crashes in Mason County, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.
A 28-year-old Snellville, Ga. man received minor injuries “after the semi truck he was driving was blown off the road, due to high winds, and into several trees,” said Sheriff Cole. The crash occurred on Thanksgiving, Nov. 27, shortly before 8:30 a.m. on US 31 south of the Ludington rest area in Summit Township.
Another wind-related crash occurred Wednesday at 6:21 p.m. on Angling Road east of Jebavy Drive in Hamlin Township after a driver struck a tree that had fallen in the road due to high winds. No one was injured.
A motorist struck a tree that had fallen in the road due to high winds Wednesday at 8 p.m. on Fountain Rd west of the Village of Fountain in Sherman Township. No one was injured.
A driver struck a tree that had fallen in the road due to high winds Wednesday shortly after 8 p.m. on Angling Road near Victory Drive in Hamlin Township. No one was injured.
Another driver struck a tree that had fallen in the road due to high winds Thursday shortly after 7 a.m. on Rath Avenue south of Sugar Grove Road in Hamlin Township. No injuries occurred.
