Mason County Press Podcast

Dear MCP/OCP reader,

As we near what has become known as Small Business Saturday, on Nov. 29, please keep in mind that Mason County Press/Oceana County Press is also a small, locally owned business, which needs your support.

A small investment from you will help us to continue the services we currently provide, and will allow us to cover even more news and events.

Our news services have traditionally been provided to you to read online for free. Since this service was started in 2012, we have relied mostly on the support of advertisers. However, the cost of operating a small business has become more and more challenging over the last few years. While we continue to solicit advertising packages, many businesses have diversified their marketing budgets to non-local services.

We really need your assistance. We are asking for a small financial commitment from you, $10 a month, which is about 33 cents a day. In exchange we will send our Daily Briefing to your inbox, which is a summary of the day’s news in one convenient email. This service also includes breaking news emails and subscriber-exclusive features.

As a holiday special, we are offering two months free for a paid one-year subscription (a total of $100, saving $20). You may still choose the month-to-month payment of $10 as well.

Currently, MCP and OCP operates with two full time personnel who not only cover the news 24 hours a day, seven days a week, but also maintain all other aspects of running a small business such as sales, bookkeeping, and marketing.

We are very grateful to the individuals and businesses that already support MCP/OCP. We would encourage you to let those businesses that advertise with us know that you have seen their ads on MCP and OCP.

If you own or operate a business that does not advertise with us, please consider doing so. After all, you are currently reading this which means that you follow MCP/OCP. Please email me at editor@mediagroup31.com for more information about advertising with us.

To subscribe to our services, send an email to editor@mediagroup31.com and state “SUBSCRIPTION” in the subject line. Please include your name, address, and phone number and whether you wish to subscribe monthly or annually. We will then invoice you, which can conveniently paid online.

Yearly subscriptions can also be paid by sending a check to Media Group 31, PO Box 21, Scottville, MI 49454.

For those wishing to make a larger financial investment to our services, you may want to consider contributing to our recently established non-profit service, Sable Points Media. Your contributions to this 501(c)(3) organization are tax deductible and will assure local news continues in Mason and Oceana counties. Please feel free to contact me for more information.

Sincerely,

Rob Alway
