Marion Mallion
Marion Mallion, 87, of Ludington, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Monday, October 27, 2025.
Born November 23, 1937, in Manitowoc, Wis., Marion was the daughter of the late Fred and Erna (Sampe) Wilms. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Manitowoc, class of 1955. On November 3, 1957, she married the love of her life, Barton Mallion, and they shared many wonderful years together.
Marion worked at Flora Craft for 28 years before retiring.
She was a lifelong member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Ludington.
Marion was known as the hub of the family. She was the person who knew everyone’s birthdays and anniversaries, writing handwritten letters to family and friends on their special occasion. Marion had a love of collecting recipes, reading, and traveling with her extended family. She enjoyed spending time at various sporting events and cherished moments watching her grandchildren play and grow. Marion’s hobbies and interests reflected her vibrant spirit and love for life, leaving lasting memories with all who knew her.
Marion is survived by her children, Jim (Cathy) Mallion, Marilyn Mallion, and Keith Mallion; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild on the way; siblings-in-law Bill (Dee), Jody (Ted), and Lori; and many nieces and nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Marion was also preceded in death by her husband Barton; brother Fredrick Wilms; and 13 siblings-in-law.
A funeral service for Marion will be held on Monday November 3, 2025, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Dave Goehmann officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Marion will be laid to rest at Lakeview Cemetery in Ludington.
