LUDINGTON — The 42-year-old Ludington man who was involved in a high-speed chase Tuesday night, Oct. 21, in Victory Township was arraigned on felony charges in Mason County’s 79th District Court.
Jason Michael Perrone, who was also arrested on five warrants, faces new felony charges including fleeing and eluding police, two counts of resisting and obstructing police and cocaine possession.
The pursuit began on Sugar Grove Road in Victory Township, according to Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole. During the chase, the Perrone’s 2014 GMC pickup truck reached speeds of 100 mph, said Sheriff Cole. After abandoning the truck, Perrone was tasered by a deputy as he was attempting to run away.
“At 10:45 p.m., on Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2025, a Mason County Sheriff’s Office deputy attempted a traffic stop on Sugar Grove Road west of US 31 in Mason County’s Victory Township,” states Cole in a press release. “The traffic stop was related to a person who had multiple warrants.
“The suspect vehicle, a 2014 GMC pickup truck, failed to stop. The suspect vehicle turned northbound on US 31 to Beyer Road; then westbound on Beyer Road to Quarterline Road. The vehicle then went eastbound on Fountain Road to Amber; southbound on Amber Road to Stiles Road. During the chase, the suspect vehicle reached speeds of 100 mph.”
Perrone had five outstanding warrants, including four criminal bench warrants for failure to appear on dangerous drug charges and probation violation, said Cole.
He is scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary exam Nov. 12 at 1:30 p.m., according to court records. He is lodged in the Mason County Jail on a $100,000/cash/surety bond.
