Gary Green
Gary David Green, 68 of Pentwater, passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
Born April 4, 1957, in Ludington, Gary was the son of the late Earl and Lorna (Sawyer) Green. He graduated from Ludington Senior High School with the class of 1975 and went on to receive his associate degree from West Shore Community College.
He married Cheryl Lyn Johnson on August 24, 2002, and they shared over 23 years together filled with laughter and love.
After 38 years, Gary retired from Textron as a CNC machinist.
He was a talented guitarist, having played for 52 years in various local and traveling bands. His passion for music was only matched by his love for the outdoors, enjoying hunting and fishing whenever he could. An avid golfer, he also cherished time spent playing with his grandchildren, whom he adored deeply.
Gary was known for his loving and generous nature, as well as his exceptional sense of humor. His legacy as a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather is marked by the countless lives he touched with his kindness and the joy he brought to his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Green; daughter Zena Walters; stepchildren Tonya Vida, Krista Rodriguez and Shawn O’Connell; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister Patricia Green; brother Greg Green; nephew and niece Gary Dean and Cynthia Ulrich; beloved pet Luci; and many other family and friends.
In addition to his parents Earl and Lorna, Gary was preceded in death by his sisters Sandra Shanahan, Karen Green and Sharon Green, and his son-in-law Sean Vida.
A memorial service for Gary will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Grace Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
