Suspect arrested in Ludington store break-in

November 6, 2026

LUDINGTON — A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an Oct. 20 breaking and entering at Backstage Hobbies and Games, according to the Ludington Police Department.

Ludington Police Chief Chris Jones announced Friday, Nov. 6, that the suspect had been identified and arrested following an investigation into the break-in at the business, located at 119 S. James St.

The incident occurred at approximately 3:58 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, when the business’s glass entrance door was smashed and a display case was damaged. More than $2,000 worth of merchandise was stolen. Police previously reported that the break-in occurred in less than two minutes.

According to Jones, investigators identified a 21-year-old male suspect who was subsequently arrested. He said the suspect provided a full confession regarding his involvement in the break-in.

All stolen merchandise has been recovered, according to the department.

The suspect is expected to be arraigned today, Friday, Nov. 6, in 79th District Court, on charges of breaking and entering with intent and malicious destruction of property. His name has not been released pending arraignment.

“The Ludington Police Department would like to thank Backstage Hobbies and Games for their cooperation throughout the investigation,” Jones said. “We appreciate the continued support and cooperation of our local businesses and community members.”
