Roger Weinert

Roger Alan Weinert, 79, passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2026, in Ludington.

Roger was born on July 29, 1947, in Ludington and graduated from Ludington High School
with the class of 1965. He went on to earn his master’s degree from the University of
Southern California.

Roger dedicated 46 years of his life to teaching with the U.S. Department of Education (mainly in Japan and Germany) before retiring in 2019. Throughout his life, he was known for his friendly personality, great sense of humor, and outgoing nature. He really enjoyed traveling, caring for his plants, and, most of all, spending time with family and friends. Roger had a way of making connections with others and brought warmth and laughter to those around him.

Roger is survived by his sisters, Jeanne McWilliams, Lisa Weinert, and Judy Woodard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Irene Weinert; and his siblings, Irene Painter and Jerry Weinert.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 8, 2026, at 3 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ludington.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in Roger’s memory.
