Rebecca Carol Staley, 83, of Scottville and Zephyrhills, Fla., passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Rebecca was born on September 9, 1943, in Battle Creek, to Walter and Martha (McEwen) Swain. She graduated from Galesburg High School with the class of 1961. On December 15, 1962, she married the love of her life, Roger Dale Staley, beginning a lifelong journey together.

Becky was a member of New River Church and Victory Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a lighthearted, cheerful person who found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. Her happiest moments were spent with those she loved. She enjoyed baking, making Christmas wreaths, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Becky had a passion for watching wildlife and was perfectly content spending her mornings with a cup of coffee, either alone or in the company of family and friends gazing out the picture window at the birds, squirrels, rabbits and deer that frequented her yard.   She also enjoyed golfing, fishing, listening to music, and dancing.

Above all, Becky cherished her family. Her warmth, gentle spirit, and love for others will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Becky will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Roger Staley; her daughters, Christine Schwass, Connie Staley, and Carolyn (Rob) Schultz; her grandchildren, Matthew (Stephany) Schwass, Roger (Alicia) Schwass, Brad (Dani) Powers, and Bethany Schultz; 12 great-grandchildren; her sister, Nancy (Ron) Anderson; sister-in-law Janice Newton and several nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Martha (McEwen) Swain, and her parents-in-law, Dale and Glenda Staley.

A memorial service/celebration of life will be held at a later date.
