LUDINGTON — A drug investigation at Ludington High School Wednesday, Oct. 7, yielded a marijuana vape and several empty prescription narcotic pill bottles, according to a press release from the Ludington Police Department.
“On Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2026, at approximately 12:30 p.m., the Ludington Police Department received a tip that a Ludington High School student was in possession of a marijuana vape,” states the press release. “LPD contacted the school resource officer who immediately notified school administration.
“The initial investigation, conducted jointly by the SRO and LHS staff, resulted in the confiscation of a marijuana vape. Investigators also found several empty prescription narcotic pill bottles.
“As the investigation proceeds, it is believed that no narcotics distribution occurred on school grounds or elsewhere, as it relates to this investigation. This investigation remains active.
“In the interest of transparency, LPD and Ludington Area School District are sharing this information with the community. We want to confirm that this matter is being actively investigated; that appropriate protocols are being followed; and that the safety of our students, staff, and community remains our highest priority.”
