U-Win donates $1,975 toward MCE book vending machines

AMBER TOWNSHIP — U-Win Motorsports recently donated $1,975 toward Mason County Eastern Schools’ book vending machine project as part of the business’s yearlong 25th-anniversary community-giving campaign.

MCE Superintendent Paul Shoup said the book vending machines will serve students at all grade levels. Students will earn opportunities to use the machines through various school incentives and will then be able to select a book.

Book vending machines have become increasingly popular in schools as a way to combine student recognition with literacy. Rather than dispensing snacks or drinks, the machines are stocked with books. Students who earn the opportunity to use the machine select a title from the available choices.

U-Win Motorsports has pledged to donate $25 from every repair work order completed during the anniversary promotion to organizations serving the area.

U-Win Motorsports, located at 2284 W. US 10-31, launched the promotion earlier this year as a way to celebrate the company’s 25th anniversary while supporting organizations and programs serving the community.

“This year marks a big milestone for us at U-Win Motorsports,” owner Dan Quinn said when the campaign was announced. “We’re celebrating 25 years in business, serving riders, boaters and families right here in our community. And with our nation approaching 250 years, we wanted to turn that celebration into something that truly gives back.”

The promotion applies to service and repair work completed at the business, which services boats, personal watercraft, ATVs, side-by-sides and other recreational equipment.

U-Win donated $1,800 to the Ludington American Legion in May, $2,600 to Hand 2 Hand in June and $1,950 to Lakeshore Food Club in August.

Quinn said the campaign’s goal is to combine customer service with meaningful contributions to organizations and programs that strengthen the community.
