CUSTER TOWNSHIP — The Mason County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a larceny theft at the Custer River Bridge that was reported Tuesday, Sept. 15, at 6:18 p.m.
“The complainant reported someone had cut the lock of a cash box used for day permits and took cash from inside,” said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

Sunday, Sept. 13, 2026:
- 11:56 a.m., (Michigan State Police), a 41-year-old Fountain man was arrested on a warrant, 1700 block of Larson Road, Branch Township. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
Monday, Sept. 14, 2026:
- 6:49 a.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), car/deer crash, no injury, Pere Marquette Highway south of Lattin Road, Summit Township.
- 7:19 a.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injury, Jebavy Drive north of Michelle Avenue, Pere Marquette Township.
- 8:11 a.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, City of Scottville.
- 9:03 a.m., (MCSO), hit-and-run crash of a mailbox, 400 block of North Thomas Street, City of Scottville.
- 2:29 p.m., (MCSO), a 46-year-old Scottville MI woman was arrested on two outstanding warrants issued in Mason County for warrant charged financial crimes and using a computer to commit a crime, US 31 and Oceana Drive, Summit Township. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
- 11:03 p.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Amber Township.
- 11:10 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Jebavy Drive south of Angling Road, Hamlin Township.
Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2026:
- 7:45 a.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Amber Township.
