Phyllis Anne Sedlbauer, 88, of Ludington, formerly of Stickney, Ill., passed away on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2026, with her loved ones by her side.

Phyllis was born on March 11, 1938, in Chicago, the daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Mucha) Criss. She was a 1956 graduate of Morton East High School. On Dec. 2, 1967, she married Daniel Francis Sedlbauer. For many years she worked in the bond department at Northern Bank and Trust in Chicago. When she moved her family to Ludington, she owned and operated Brite N’ Clean Laundromat for many years, alongside her husband, and daughter Christy.

Phyllis had a passion for various hobbies that brought joy to her life. She was skilled in crafting and enjoyed music, traveling to the southern and western states of the U.S., and visiting casinos. Additionally, she cherished the times she played bingo at Oakview Medical Care Facility.

Phyllis is survived by her loving husband, Daniel Sedlbauer; daughter, Christy (Thomas) Hansen; and niece, nephew, and cousins.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Mary Criss; and brother Laurence Criss.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Lakeview Cemetery in Ludington.
