Chip and fog seal work planned on Mason County roads

August 13, 2026

Mason County motorists can expect intermittent road closures next week as the Mason County Road Commission conducts chip and fog seal work in five townships.

Work is scheduled Monday, Aug. 17 through Wednesday, Aug. 19 in Summit, Pere Marquette, Amber, Sheridan and Logan townships. The schedule is weather dependent.

On Monday, work is planned on Bass Lake Boulevard from Lattin Road to Lakeshore Drive; Lattin Road from Pere Marquette Highway to Lakeshore Drive; and North Avenue from Lakeshore Drive to Mack Road, all in Summit Township.

In Pere Marquette Township, Monday’s work includes South Lakeshore Drive from Iris Road to 1,000 feet south of Kistler Road and two sections of Inman Road — from Bradshaw Road to Chauvez Road and from Iris Road to Bradshaw Road.

The largest number of projects is scheduled Tuesday in Pere Marquette Township. Roads include Ann Street from Rath Avenue to Donna Street; Baune Road south of Hesslund Road; Benedict Road from Bradshaw Road to Hesslund Road; Betty Avenue from Ann Street to north of Donna Street; Donna Street from Ann Street to Betty Avenue; two sections of Hesslund Road; Ivanhoe Street from Washington Avenue to Lendale Street; and Lenz Road from Hesslund Road to Pere Marquette Highway.

Also Tuesday, work is planned in Amber Township on Cedar Lane/Amber Road/Chilberg Road north of Hansen Road and Osborn Road from Amber Road to Gordon Road.

Wednesday’s work includes Morse Road south of Millerton Road in Sheridan Township and two one-mile sections of Tyndall Road in Logan Township — from Kinney Road to Hawley Road and from Hawley Road to Lucek Road.

Motorists should be prepared for intermittent closures while the work is underway.
