Driver injured after hitting light post in Walmart parking lot

PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — A 72-year-old Ludington woman was injured after she drove a vehicle into a light post in the Walmart parking lot Wednesday, July 29, at 10:15 a.m., said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.

Wednesday, July 29, 2026:

  • 12:13 a.m., (Ludington Police Department) a 20-year-old Ludington man was arrested for probation violation after police responded to a domestic assault complaint, 700 block of East Filer Street, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 5:50 a.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), two-vehicle crash, no injury, Scottville and Chauvez roads, Eden Township.
  • 6:20 a.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injury, Washington Avenue and Melendy Street, City of Ludington.
  • 8:35 a.m., (MCSO), a 21-year-old Free Soil woman turned herself in to the Mason County Jail on an outstanding Mason County failure to appear warrant, City of Ludington.
  • 12:25 p.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle crash, no injury, Free Soil Road west of Tuttle Road, Free Soil Township.
  • 1:43 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injury, US 10 east of Meyers Road, Amber Township.
  • 3:46 p.m., (MCSO), a 47-year-old Ludington man was cited for driving while license revoked following a traffic stop, Main and State streets, City of Scottville.
  • 6:09 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injury, Lakeshore Drive north of No Name Road, Hamlin Township.
  • 6:15 p.m., (MCSO), one-vehicle crash, no injury, Mavis Road west of Darr Road, Sherman Township.
  • 7:44 p.m., (MCSO), a 37-year-old Fountain woman was arrested for domestic assault by strangulation, 1600 block of Goff Road, Branch Township. She was lodged in the Mason County Jail.

Thursday, July 30, 2026:

  • 5:06 p.m., (MCSO), a 67-year-old Scottville man was arrested on an outstanding felony drug warrant issued by the Michigan State Police, Fountain and Custer roads, Sherman Township.During the arrest, it was discovered he had meth in his possession and was also with charged methamphetamine possession. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
  • 8:30 p.m., (MCSO), larceny of trail cam, East Fourth Street, Sheridan Township.
