PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — Women Who Care of Mason County will hold its next quarterly meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 4, at the United Methodist Church, 5810 Bryant Road. The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m.
During each quarterly meeting, members have the opportunity to nominate local nonprofit organizations for funding. Three nominations are randomly selected to give brief presentations about their organizations and the specific needs they hope to address. Following the presentations, members vote, and the nonprofit receiving the most votes receives the group’s quarterly donations.
Women Who Care of Mason County currently has 177 members. If each member fulfills the group’s quarterly commitment of $50, the selected nonprofit could receive approximately $8,850.
Since its founding in 2017, the organization has raised approximately $283,000 for local nonprofit organizations throughout Mason County.
At the organization’s May 2026 meeting, C.O.V.E. was selected as the quarterly recipient and received $9,250 in donations. Representatives from C.O.V.E. will provide an update during Tuesday’s meeting on how the funds have been used.
Women Who Care of Mason County is part of the national 100 Who Care Alliance, which promotes the idea that “we are strong in our own right, but together we are stronger.”
The organization welcomes new members. More information is available on the Women Who Care of Mason County Facebook page or by emailing wwcofmc@gmail.com.
