Lake Michigan Carferry to host two hiring events for seasonal positions

LUDINGTON — Lake Michigan Carferry will hold two hiring events later this month as it continues recruiting seasonal employees for the 2026 sailing season.

The company is seeking applicants for customer service, housekeeping and auto attendant positions aboard the S.S. Badger.

The first hiring event will be held Wednesday, July 22, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Michigan Works! West Central service center, 920 E. Tinkham Ave. Applicants are encouraged to dress professionally and be prepared to interview.

Lake Michigan Carferry also will host walk-in interviews Friday, July 24, and Saturday, July 25, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the company’s corporate office, 701 Maritime Drive. Interviews will take place in the second tan building behind the S.S. Spartan.

Positions are available aboard the 410-foot S.S. Badger, which operates between Ludington and Manitowoc, Wisconsin, during the annual sailing season, through Oct. 11.

Customer service employees work directly with passengers in a variety of onboard roles, while housekeeping staff help maintain passenger accommodations and public spaces. Auto attendants are responsible for loading, securing and unloading vehicles and assisting with vehicle operations on the Badger’s car deck.

Lake Michigan Carferry offers seasonal employment opportunities in a variety of shipboard and shoreside positions each sailing season.
