LUDINGTON — Anglers from across the Great Lakes region will converge on Ludington next week as the 2026 Ludington Offshore Classic returns with a full slate of salmon fishing tournaments, public weigh-ins and community events from Monday, July 13, through Sunday, July 19.
Hosted by the Chamber Alliance of Mason County, the weeklong tournament features professional, amateur, women’s and youth divisions competing for cash prizes, including up to $20,000 in the event’s premier tournaments. Public weigh-ins will allow spectators to watch teams bring in their catches and see the day’s top competitors recognized.
The tournament schedule begins Monday, July 13, with the Big Boys captains meeting. The Big Boys Tournament follows Tuesday, July 14 and Wednesday, July 15. The Ludington Legends Memorial Tournament is set for Thursday, July 16, followed Friday, July 17, by the Ladies Pro/Am Tournament and Youth Tournament. The week concludes with the Pro/Am Offshore Classic on Saturday and Sunday, July 18-19.
Daily weigh-ins are open to the public beginning at 2 p.m. The Youth Tournament weigh-in will begin at 1 p.m. Friday. The Baker Auto Group will host the Big Boys Tournament weigh-in on July 14, while all remaining weigh-ins will take place at Waterfront Park.
Tournament organizers said the event not only showcases Ludington’s reputation as one of the Great Lakes’ premier salmon fishing destinations but also benefits the community. The Chamber Alliance of Mason County and Lakeshore Food Club will again partner to collect donated fish from participating anglers for local families experiencing food insecurity. Last year, anglers donated 2,458 pounds of fish, which volunteers processed and distributed through the food club.
