MANISTEE — FiveCAP Inc. will host its 22nd annual Golf for Warmth and Imagination Library fundraiser Friday, Aug. 28, at Manistee National Golf & Resort, with proceeds supporting emergency heating assistance and children’s literacy programs in four West Michigan counties.
The 18-hole, four-person scramble will begin with registration at 8 a.m. followed by a 9 a.m. shotgun start at the golf course, 120 County Line Road. The entry fee is $85 per person, or $70 for golf course members, and includes a golf cart and lunch. Men’s, women’s and mixed teams are welcome. Individuals without a full team may contact FiveCAP to be paired with other golfers.
The winning team will receive an overnight stay package for each team member sponsored by Little River Casino Resort. Golfers also will have a chance to win a 2026 Jeep Cherokee with a hole-in-one on the ninth hole, sponsored by Watson Country.
Community members who do not golf are invited to attend a live auction and raffle beginning at approximately 1 p.m. under the large white tent after the golfers return from the course. Organizers said community businesses have donated numerous items for the auction and raffles, including the grand raffle prize sponsored by the DTE Energy Foundation.
Funds raised during the event will benefit FiveCAP’s Golf/Walk for Warmth program, which provides emergency heating assistance to residents in Manistee, Mason, Lake and Newaygo counties. Proceeds also will support the FiveCAP-sponsored Dolly Parton Imagination Library, which provides free books each month to enrolled children from birth through age 5.
