PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — Youth will have an opportunity to experience flight firsthand this summer during the Mason County Pilots Association’s annual Young Eagles event.
The event, hosted by Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 772, is scheduled for Saturday, July 11, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mason County Airport, 5300 W. US 10.
Children ages 8 to 17 are invited to participate in free airplane rides provided by volunteer pilots who donate their time, aircraft and fuel. Organizers said a signed parental consent form is required for participation.
A weather backup date has been scheduled for Sunday, July 12, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Young Eagles is a national EAA program designed to introduce young people to aviation and inspire interest in flying.
