PERE MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP — Registration is open for the sixth annual Free U Dig It Youth Summer Nature Program, a hands-on outdoor experience for children ages 9-12.
The free program will be held Thursdays from June 18 through July 23 from 9 a.m. to noon at the U Dig It Community Garden, 5810 E. Bryant Road, behind the United Methodist Church of Ludington.
Participants will learn how to grow organic food, explore nature and create art through interactive activities designed to encourage outdoor learning and creativity.
Program organizers said the summer program is intended for children who enjoy being outside, gardening and artistic expression.
Space is limited to 20 participants and advance registration is required.
The U Dig It Youth Summer Program is sponsored by West Shore Bank and the Gage family.
