Diane Ryan
Diane Kay Ryan passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at the age of 79, leaving behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, and love that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
Born on May 31, 1946, in Ludington, Diane was the daughter of Willard Leroy Paasch and Marjorie May Schmock. She proudly served her country in the United States Air Force as a medical service specialist and received an Honorable Discharge in 1967 — a reflection of the quiet strength and caring spirit that defined her throughout her life.
In 1984, Diane married the love of her life and best friend, Lawrence Everett “Larry” Ryan, in Ogdensburg, NY. Together they built nearly 42 years of love, friendship, humor, and unwavering companionship. Family and friends often admired the deep connection they shared. Their relationship was full of teasing, laughter, and fun, and remarkably, throughout all their years together, they never had a fight. They truly enjoyed one another’s company and created a life built on kindness, loyalty, and joy.
Diane had a wonderful sense of humor and a warm personality that made people feel comfortable around her. She loved animals deeply, especially her beloved kitty, Clyde, who brought her endless comfort and companionship.
She treasured spending time with friends and family and found happiness in life’s simple pleasures — a good laugh, meaningful conversation, and quiet moments at home. Diane especially enjoyed knitting and crocheting and took pride in the beautiful handmade creations she made over the years. Those who knew her will remember her gentle heart, caring nature, playful spirit, and the love she gave so freely to the people and animals around her.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Willard Leroy Paasch and Marjorie May Schmock.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Lawrence “Larry” Ryan, along with family
members, dear friends, and loved ones who will carry her memory in their hearts always.
