LUDINGTON — A 39-year-old woman was sentenced to prison in Mason County’s 51st Circuit Court Tuesday, May 19, for 10 felony counts in connection to dealing drugs.
Ashley Lynn Hornacek pleaded guilty March 24 to five counts of delivery/manufacture of cocaine, heroin or another narcotic; one count of conspiracy to deliver/manufacture cocaine, heroin or another narcotic; one count of delivery/manufacture of methamphetamine; one count of maintaining a drug house; and one count of possession of cocaine, heroin or another narcotic, according to court files.
Hornacek was sentenced by Judge Susan K. Sniegowski to a minimum of three and a half years in prison.
“The drugs were cocaine, meth and fentanyl that were delivered,” said Mason County Prosecutor Beth Hand. “She also possessed hydrocodone and pled to maintaining a drug house. There was a significant amount of crack, meth and fentanyl located during the search warrant execution.”
Hornacek received concurrent prison terms of three to 20 years; 23 months to 20 years; 16 months to two years; and 32 months to four years with credit for 156 days served in jail.
In another file, Hornacek pleaded guilty April 21 to possession of cocaine, heroin or another narcotic and was sentenced May 19 to a consecutive term of six months to four years in prison with no credit for time served in jail.
With the nine total counts in the first file, she received a minimum of three years in prison and with the six-month minimum in the second file, “she will do a minimum of 42 months with the Michigan Department of Corrections,” explained Mason County Prosecutor Beth Hand.
“This was a Cobbs agreement with the court,” said Hand. “She pled as charged to everything. There was no sentence agreement with the prosecution.”
A charge of assaulting/resisting/obstructing police in a third file is being dismissed.
