LUDINGTON — The Fish On For Freedom Veterans Fishing Tournament will return to Ludington for its 11th year on Friday, June 5.
The tournament will begin with a 6 a.m. tournament-style start.
At 11:45 a.m., boats will assemble just outside the Ludington pier heads in preparation for the Welcome Home Parade, which will begin at noon. Boats will be led into port by the U.S. Coast Guard, local law enforcement agencies and emergency departments.
Boats carrying veterans will travel down the channel displaying their catches for the community. Weigh-in for the event will immediately follow at Ludington Municipal Marina.
Community members are encouraged to gather at the Loomis Street Boat Launch to celebrate veterans and active service members.
Organizers also thanked sponsors, volunteers, participating captains and crew members for supporting the event.
