Lyle Hanson
Lyle Ellis Hanson, 91, of Fountain, formerly Saline, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.
Lyle was born on May 29, 1934, in Manistee, the son of the late Marshall and Bernadine (Lehr) Hanson. He was a 1952 graduate of Manistee High School, and went on to further his education, obtaining an associate degree in business. In 1954, he was enlisted in the United States Army and stationed in Germany. In 1956, he was honorably discharged. In 1958, he married his beloved Patricia (Millner) Hanson. Until 1999, he was a retail manager at JC Penny and held a job at R & B Machine Tool working in shipping and receiving. He was a devoted member of the Saline United Methodist Church in Saline, and at Bachelor Evangelical Covenant Church in Fountain.
Lyle had a passion for the outdoors and was involved in numerous activities that reflected his love for nature and community service. He enjoyed barbershop quartet singing and community theatre. Lyle also served proudly in the VFW and American Legion Honor Guard, demonstrating his commitment to his fellow servicemen and women.
His spirited presence and benevolent nature will be deeply missed by all fortunate enough to have known and loved him.
Lyle is survived by his children, Brian (Donna) Hanson, Elizabeth Hanson, and Craig (Robin) Hanson; granddaughters, Erin Connor, daughter of Elizabeth, and Gina Hanson, daughter of Craig; and sister, Joyce Hamilton.
Lyle was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Hanson; and parents, Marshall and Bernadine Hanson.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026, at noon at Grace Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
