Sharon McCarthy

Sharon Ann (Klastow/Hoffman) McCarthy, 76 of Scottville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, in Grand Rapids. Heaven just got craftier.

Sharon was born on Jan. 15, 1950, to Leonard and Barbara (Holman) Klastow in Lansing.

She is survived by her children David Hoffman of Manistee and Rebecca “Beckie” Hoffman of Scottville; her grandchildren Zachary Hoffman of Clare and Willow Kay Hoffman of Hart; her siblings Susan (Bruce) Yanusz of Grand Rapids, Leonard Klastow of Ludington, and Larry Klastow of Vail, Arizona.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Barbara; her first husband Paul Hoffman; and her second husband Daniel McCarthy.

She worked at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, Ari. She also worked as a bus driver for years with Tucson Unified School District.

Sharon was a very crafty lady. She did ceramics in Arizona. She absolutely loved cross stitching, coloring, diamond dot art, drawing, and working on puzzles. In her spare time when not being crafty she loved to read. Sharon loved spending quality time with her daughter, as they lived together. She enjoyed baking and antiquing. For many years she owned Cow Palace antiques.

She was the kindest soul anyone could meet. She was the best bonus mom that loved many who were not her own – Kelly, April, Maddox, and Isaac. Sharon is deeply missed by her family.

There will be no formal services, just graveside memorial with close friends and family.

Memorial contributions may be made to any kidney dialysis center, by especially DaVita in Ludington.

Arrangements were entrusted to Grace Funeral Home and Cremation Services. www.GraceCremations.com
