FREE SOIL TOWNSHIP — A 45-year-old Walhalla man was arrested by Mason County sheriff’s deputies on 13 criminal bench warrants issued in Mason County following a traffic stop at Koenig and Darr roads Tuesday, May 5, shortly after 2 a.m., said Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole.
He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
The following is other recent activity of the Mason County Sheriff’s Office:
Tuesday, May 5, 2026:
- 12:48 p.m., one-vehicle crash, no injury, Darr and Johnson roads, Custer Township.
- 5:11 p.m., a 39-year-old Shelby man was arrested on an outstanding Mason County criminal bench warrant, US 31 and Oceana Drive, Summit Township. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
- 9:23 p.m., car/deer crash, no injury, Dennis Road east of Hansen Road, Amber Township.
Wednesday, May 6, 2026:
- 3:15 p.m., an 18-year-old Scottville man was arrested for domestic violence after a 911 call reporting a roadside assault, US 10 west of Jebavy Drive, Pere Marquette Township. “The suspect fled on foot when deputies arrived,” said Sheriff Cole. “He was captured following a brief foot chase. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
- 3:49 p.m., one-vehicle crash, with injury, Hansen Road west of Amber Road, Amber Township. A 29-year-old Custer man received non-life-threatening injuries after his vehicle had a mechanical failure and struck a tree, said Sheriff Cole. He was cited for second-offense driving while license revoked.
- 8 p.m., car/deer crash, no injury, Custer Road north of Townline Road, Free Soil Township.
