Marilyn Jane Wilder, 76, of Scottville, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, May 4, 2026, after a long battle with cancer. Marilyn was born in Ludington to Robert and Myrtle (Christensen) Carr.

Marilyn was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She often said her family was the greatest joy in her life. Marilyn is survived by her children Stephanie Scheckel of Pentwater, Jason (Danielle) Wilder of Ludington and Cheryl Wilder of Scottville; her grandchildren Damian Wilder of Grand Rapids, Kayleigh Hathaway of Ludington, and Carissa Scheckel of Pentwater; great-grandchildren Kristine, Arianna, Francesca and Sabrina; and sister-in-law Kathleen Carr of Oregon, and longtime family friend, Shawn Parker, who was like a daughter and her children Breanna and Seth, and her loyal dog Honey.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Myrtle (Christensen) Carr, brother Howard Carr, nephew Michael Carr, aunt Mae (Christensen) Huster and cousin Bruce Huster.

Marilyn was born and raised in Ludington. She was a lifelong member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and dedicated 32 years managing the church’s food pantry.

Marilyn worked at Oakview Medical Care Facility for many years. Following her mother’s death, Marilyn assumed management of Carr Manor for 15 years before retiring and moving to Scottville with her daughter Cheryl. Marilyn was an avid dog lover, typically having two or three dogs at a time.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m., Monday, May 11, 2026, at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 121 N Nelson Rd, Ludington with Pastor Ryan White officiating. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Ludington. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of services.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mason County Mutts or the Cornerstone Baptist Church Food Pantry.
