MANISTEE — The Ludington varsity golf team continued its strong spring run Monday, capturing first place at the Western Michigan Conference Jamboree at Manistee National.

The Orioles finished with a team score of 17-over-par 157, comfortably ahead of Montague (171) and Oakridge (180). Fremont placed fourth at 182, followed by Whitehall (183), Manistee (185) and Orchard View (250).

Ludington’s lineup delivered another balanced performance, led by senior Alec Rodenbeck, who earned medalist honors with an even-par 35. Finn Flanery added a 3-over 38 to place third overall, while Channing Miller carded a 40 to finish fifth.

Asher Forfinski and Andrew Bousson each shot 44 to tie for eighth, rounding out the Orioles’ scoring. Nate Traeger posted a 50.

Ludington coach Sebastian Alvarado said the team’s consistency continues to be a key factor as the postseason approaches.

“It is great to see the consistent play from the whole group, especially with the schedule we have over the next couple of weeks as we ramp up towards the regional tournament,” Alvarado said. “It is great to see the guys continuing to improve and continue wanting to improve each day.”

Ludington returns to action Tuesday, hosting the WMC Lakes Jamboree at Lincoln Hills Golf Club. The event is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
