Obituary: Rebecca Jean (Knudsen) Fellows, 35, of Manistee

It is with very broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beautiful Rebecca Jean (Knudsen) Fellows, age 35 of Manistee, who died unexpectedly on Monday, April 20, 2026 at her home. She was born on Aug. 9, 1990 in Ludington, the daughter of Jeannie (Gutowski) Carver and Randy Knudsen. She was a graduate of Manistee High School with the class of 2008. Rebecca married Oren Walker Fellows in Manistee on Nov. 9, 2016. After years of being told she would never conceive children, she gave birth to their beautiful baby girl on June 15, 2023. Her greatest joy in life was her baby girl and her husband and her family.

She had been employed at the Manistee Veterinary Hospital and also in home health care in the Manistee County area, as well as having worked in several adult foster care homes. She loved swimming and spending time on the beach, cooking, baking and decorating cakes, studying and reading about the holocaust and Auschwitz, also enjoyed music, singing and dancing.

She is survived by her husband, Oren W. Fellows; her baby daughter, Avery Irene Fellows; her mother and stepfather, Jeannie and Chuck Carver; her father and stepmother, Randy and Amy Knudsen; her stepmother, Connie Staley; her father in-law and stepmother-in-law,  Douglas and Cindy (Hooker) Fellows; her brothers, Tyler (Shanna) Knudsen, Slade (Miquaela) Carver; her sisters, Sarah Carver (Kyle Ratliff), Samantha (Dylan) Sommer, Sangie (Ken) Bailey; her special cousin, Mark Saugie; her aunts and uncles, John (Sheryl) Gutowski, Elaine (Bob) Morehouse, Alice Snyder, Mark (Cathy) Gutowski, Robert (Debbie) Gutowski, Patty Saugie, David (Linda) Gutowski, Rick Knudsen, Tim Knudsen and Lucia and Don Buckley ; and numerous nieces and nephews that meant the world to her.

She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, David and Jean Gutowski and Richard and Jean Knudsen; uncle, Leon Sherman; aunt, Patty Mihalik; her cousin, Harper Gibson and her mother-in-law, Penny Libby.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 11 a.m. at the Herbert Funeral Home in Manistee with Reverend Ray Haner officiating. The family will receive friends, one hour prior to the service at 11 a.m. A luncheon will follow the service, at the East Lake Village Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made to the family for expenses and for the future of their baby girl.

Becca was by no means a fancy person. She was a leggings and T-shirt type of person, so please wear casual dress and maybe something orange, her favorite color.
