RAVENNA — Ravenna dominated both ends of a softball doubleheader against Mason County Central on Tuesday, winning 15-0 and 16-0.
In the opener, Payton Cory started in the circle for the Spartans, striking out one and walking two while allowing six hits. Aubrey Chye pitched the final one-third inning, giving up three hits as Ravenna pulled away.
Ravenna continued its offensive surge in Game 2. Chye started for Mason County Central, issuing four walks and allowing nine hits. Cory pitched the final inning, recording one strikeout with no walks and surrendering three hits.
Mason County Central struggled to generate offense throughout the evening, while Ravenna consistently hit the ball hard and capitalized on defensive miscues.
“We struggled to get our bats going tonight while Ravenna came to hit the ball hard,” said interim coach Denise Cory. “We made a lot of defensive errors that we do not normally make. Our team will grow from these mistakes and move on.”
