SCOTTVILLE — Mason County Central Schools, in partnership with Mason County Eastern, will host a Community and Family Engagement Agriculture Night on Wednesday, May 6 at the MCC Upper Elementary, offering an evening of hands-on learning and family activities centered on agriculture.

The event will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the upper elementary parking area, coinciding with the visit of the Mobile Farm Bureau Science Lab, a traveling classroom designed to provide interactive agricultural education experiences for students and the community.

Organizers say the event is designed to connect families with local agriculture while providing an engaging, festival-style atmosphere. Activities will include interactive games, informational booths hosted by local organizations, and equipment displays that highlight the region’s farming industry. Wagon rides will also be available.

Food and refreshments will be provided at no cost, including hot dogs from Lakeside Weiner Wagon and Sanders of Custer, along with ice cream sponsored by Mason County dairy farmers.

Children attending the event will also receive free books through the West Shore Educational Service District Book Bus, continuing a popular feature from past agriculture nights that promotes literacy alongside agricultural education.

The event builds on previous MCC agriculture nights, which have drawn large crowds by combining educational exhibits with family-friendly entertainment and opportunities to interact with local farmers, businesses and community groups.

Parking will be available at Mason County Central Middle School and Spartan Community Field.

Organizers say the goal of the evening is to celebrate Mason County’s agricultural heritage while fostering stronger connections between schools, families and the broader community.

Those interested in hosting a booth or display at the event may contact Angela Taylor at Mason County Central Schools.
