Armed Women of America celebrates 8th year

SHERMAN TOWNSHIP — The Mason County chapter of Armed Women of America is marking eight years of operation, providing firearm safety education and training for women in the area.

The organization, formerly known as The Well Armed Woman, is a national nonprofit with more than 300 chapters focused on education, training and support for women gun owners. The Mason County chapter offers opportunities for participants of varying experience levels to learn firearm safety, situational awareness and self-defense techniques.

Monthly meetings are held at the Fin and Feather Club of Mason County, 3276 N. Darr Rd., and include classroom instruction and live-fire practice.

“Our mission is to educate, equip, and empower women,” the organization states, emphasizing responsible gun ownership and skill development.

The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 16, 2026, at 6 p.m.
