LUDINGTON — Former Mason County Central varsity softball coach Jonathan Isaac Blake, 55, has been charged in Mason County’s 79th District Court with three high-court misdemeanors of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct — force or coercion — and one misdemeanor count of assault and battery.
Blake was charged with the crimes following an investigation by the Mason County Sheriff’s Office stemming from a Feb. 23, 2026 incident, according to court records. His bond was set at $5,000/personal recognizance.
Blake served as the MCC varsity softball coach for eight years before he resigned in late February, said MCC Superintendent Jeff Mount.
The allegations against the former coach do not involve MCC students. “No MCC students (were) involved whatsoever, and no concerns have ever been brought to our attention during his time at MCC,” said Mount.
Blake is scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary exam April 15 at 1:30 p.m.
Fourth-degree CSC is punishable by up to two years in prison, and the maximum charge for an assault and battery conviction is 93 days in jail.
