LUDINGTON — A local talent show will help raise funds for a major roof replacement project at Sandcastles Children’s Museum.
Ludington’s Got Talent will take place at 6 p.m. Friday, April 24 at the Ludington Area Center for the Arts. Proceeds from the event will benefit the museum’s Roof Restoration Fund, held through the Community Foundation for Mason County.
Sandcastles Children’s Museum, located on the northwest corner of Ludington Avenue and Harrison Street, is seeking community support to replace its aging roof and protect the building and its exhibits.
The project is expected to cost about $120,000. Organizers said just over $13,000 has been raised so far, leaving a significant funding gap.
Museum officials said the building houses hands-on exhibits created by local artists, craftspeople and volunteers, and the repairs are needed to protect those community-built features.
The fundraiser will feature 14 acts representing a variety of local talent, including individual performers and large group acts. Winners will be determined by public vote, with each dollar donated counting as one vote.
Online voting will open April 1 and continue through intermission of the live event.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children under 18. Tickets are available at the museum or online at www.sandcastleschildrensmuseum.com/ludingtonsgottalent.
Organizers said those unable to attend can still support the fundraiser by voting online or donating to the Roof Restoration Fund.
