LUDINGTON — Ludington High School inducted 54 students into the National Honor Society during a ceremony held Tuesday, March 17, at L.F. Peterson Auditorium.
The induction ceremony marked the 71st National Honor Society class at Ludington High School. The school’s NHS chapter, known as the Anna Miller Chapter, was established in 1955.
The ceremony included opening remarks and the Pledge of Allegiance led by Ava Carlson, along with recognition of the faculty council and the symbolic lighting of candles representing the organization’s core values of scholarship, leadership, service and character.
Mrs. Marianne Hayne introduced the inductees, who were then presented with pendants and insignia by faculty council members. The National Honor Society pledge was led by Interim Superintendent Mary Marshall.
The keynote address was delivered by Madison Chapman, and closing remarks were also provided by Carlson. A reception followed in the OJ Cafeteria to honor the new members.
The LHS faculty council includes advisor Marianne Hayne along with Amber Nasson, Carrie Reene, Rich Kirby, Amy Stone and JP Deines.
Student volunteers assisting with the ceremony included Annika Sherman, Olivia VanDyke, Savannah Newkirk, Ian Lundberg, Jaxon Payne and Colin Shelton.
