VICTORY TOWNSHIP — The John Jorgenson Bluegrass Band (J2B2) will take the stage at WSCC’s Center Stage Theater on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 7:30 p.m.
Renowned guitarist and multi-instrumentalist John Jorgenson brings a distinguished career spanning decades and genres to the bluegrass ensemble. Jorgenson is a co-founder, alongside Herb Pedersen and Chris Hillman, of the influential country rock group Desert Rose Band. In 1990, he founded the Hellecasters and later spent six years touring with Elton John’s band. He also rejoined Elton John as lead guitarist for numerous European dates on the record-breaking Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour.
Jorgenson’s versatility has made him a sought-after collaborator across the music industry. “We’re thrilled to welcome J2B2 to our stage,” said Ted Malt, director of performing arts. “John Jorgenson’s extraordinary musicianship and the band’s approach to bluegrass create an experience that resonates with both dedicated fans and first-time listeners. Bringing artists of this caliber to our community is at the heart of our mission, and we’re excited to share an evening of music that is technically brilliant and engaging.”
In addition to his musical accomplishments, Jorgenson portrayed legendary jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt in the feature film “Head in the Clouds.”
