HAMLIN TOWNSHIP — The Ludington Area School District’s Oriole Foundation will hold its annual Dancing with the Local Stars on Saturday, April 18 at Lincoln Hills Golf Club. The event will raise money for the foundation and the district’s band and choir programs.
“We are incredibly grateful to these generous and courageous community members who are taking to the dance floor to help raise awareness for the Oriole Foundation, an organization that supports innovative programs and unique educational opportunities for students across our district,” said Tyler Morin, president of the foundation.”
The Pennies from Heaven Foundation has committed a $25,000 matching gift for funds raised during the event. The additional funds will support the district’s drama program.
The local stars and their dance partners taking the stage include:
Kyle and Sarah Gurzynski, Jason and Juliana Anderson, Steve and Sue Brown, Ray Janish and Jamie Healy, and Dave and Ashlee French.
Dancers and their partners will be competing against each other for one of three trophies: Judges’ Choice, Most Entertaining and People’s Choice. The People’s Choice award goes to the couple that receives the most public votes: $1 equals one vote.
Choreography is being provided by Emma Claveau, Kaia Kenyon, Kaylee Malt, Gracie Allen, and Christine Plummer.
Kaley Petersen, will be emcee for the evening.
Judges for the evening will be Adam Johnson, Rich Kirby and Alissa Bly. Sound and lighting services will be performed by Adam Knudsen.
Tickets to attend the event are now on sale for $75 and include heavy hors d’oeuvres, dancing and entertainment (cash bar available). Tickets are limited and can only be purchased online.
