LUDINGTON — Ludington High School Drama will present “Little Women: The Musical” March 12-15 at L.F. Peterson Auditorium.
“Little Women: The Musical,” with a book by Allan Knee, music by Jason Howland, and lyrics by Mindi Dickstein, is a popular stage adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s classic novel, following the lives of the four March sisters—Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy—during the Civil War era. The show, which premiered on Broadway in 2005, interweaves the sisters’ real-life experiences with Jo’s fictional stories, exploring themes of love, loss, family, and personal discovery, with the standout song “Astonishing” often cited as a fan favorite.
The Drama Club produces a joint musical with the LHS Arts Chorale every other year. “We chose this sweet musical because of all the incredibly talented young women we have at LHS,” said drama director Christine Plummer.
Showtimes are Thursday, March 12 through Saturday, March 14 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 15 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $5 general admission or $10 per family.
