The following is recent police activity in Mason County:

Friday, Feb. 27, 2026:

• 4:50 a.m., (Ludington Police Department), a 36-year-old Ludington man was contacted by police in response to a reported disorderly incident and  was subsequently arrested and charged with assaulting/resisting/obstructing police, 600 block of North Lakeshore Drive, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
• 3:45 p.m., (Mason County Sheriff’s Office), car/deer crash, no injury, Custer Road south of Koenig Road, Free Soil Township.
• 6:54 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Stiles Road north of Hansen Road, Amber Township.
• 10:25 p.m., (MCSO), a 21-year-old Branch man was arrested on an outstanding Wexford County Contempt of Court warrant, 6500 block of East Beech Street, Sheridan Township. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
• 11:39 p.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Pere Marquette Township.

Saturday, Feb. 28, 2026:

• 2:07 a.m., (LPD), a 24-year-old Ludington man was arrested following a traffic stop for operating while intoxicated and driving without a valid license, Ludington Avenue and Gaylord Street, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
• 8:33 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, US 31 north of Sugar Grove Road, Sherman Township.
• 11:41 a.m., (MCSO), larceny theft of magnetic door signs from a vehicle, 3900 block of West US 10, Amber Township.
• 4:22 p.m., (LPD), a 75-year-old Ludington man was arrested for a probation violation, 700 block of East Diana Street, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
• 6:37 p.m., (MCSO), a 43-year-old Free Soil man was arrested on an outstanding Mason County failure to appear warrant. During the arrest, the suspect was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine and was also charged with methamphetamine possession, 5400 block of East Hasenbank Road, Meade Township. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.

Sunday, March 1, 2026:

• 1:43 a.m., (LPD), a 27-year-old Ludington man was arrested for domestic assault, Pineway Apartment Complex, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
• 3:05 a.m., (LPD), a 22-year-old Scottville man was arrested following a traffic stop for operating while intoxicated and driving while license suspended, Haight and Robert streets, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
• 10:58 a.m., (MCSO), damaged road sign, Groth and Anderson roads, Victory Township. A county stop sign and road sign were damaged in a hit-and-run crash.
• 3:46 p.m., (MCSO), larceny, Marshall’s, US 10, Amber Township. Cash was reported stolen from a purse left at the store.
• 6:09 p.m., (MCSO), a 31-year-old Fountain man was arrested on a warrant and charged with methamphetamine possession following a traffic stop, US 10 west of Benson Road, Branch Township. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.
• 7:09 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Quarterline Road north of Forest Trail, Grant Township.
• 7:15 p.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, Pere Marquette Highway north of Latin Road, Summit Township.
• 8:01 p.m., (LPD), a 38-year-old Ludington man was arrested on a warrant issued by Kent County’s 17th Circuit Court, 300 block of North Rowe Street, City of Ludington. He was lodged in the Mason County Jail.

Monday, March 2, 2026:

• 1:26 a.m., (MCSO), car/deer crash, no injury, US 10 east of Amber Road, Amber Township.
• 7:45 a.m., (MCSO), alarm activation, Amber Township.
• 11:25 a.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injury, US 10 east of Jebavy Drive, Pere Marquette Township.
• 12:05 p.m., (MCSO), two-vehicle crash, no injury, US 10 west of Meyers Road, Pere Marquette Township.
• 3:06 p.m., (MCSO), car/coyote crash, no injury, US 31 freeway south of Chauvez Road, Pere Marquette Township.
